The Straits Culture and Art Center is located in the art center of Sanjiangkou District, Fuzhou New Area. It is a new landmark of Fuzhou, covering an area of 150000 square meters and with a total cost of 2.7 billion yuan. The Strait Cultural Center is based on the prototype of Jasmine (the city flower of Fuzhou), jointly designed by Finnish master Peka Saminin and the chief designer of China Construction Group, Xu Zongwu. Construction began in 2015 and took three years to complete on October 1, 2018.
Overlooking from a high altitude, the Strait Culture and Art Center looks like a flawless white jasmine flower, consisting of five petal shaped venues. These five venues are the Opera House, Music Hall, Art Museum, Film and Television Center, and Multifunctional Theatre Hall. These five petal pavilions are connected to the Jasmine Square, and three observation platforms are also set up for nighttime viewing with a highly dreamy effect.
The Opera House of the Strait Culture and Art Center is the largest and most difficult to construct venue. Our company is fortunate to provide all the lighting for the theater. The opera house is divided into one underground floor and seven above ground floors, with a building height of 65 meters. The opera house adopts a frame shaped stage structure, which is located in the center of the stage with a depth of more than 20 meters. It consists of the main stage, two side stages, and a back stage, and has world-class stage facilities and lighting equipment.
In terms of lighting, we use various energy-saving and environmentally friendly LED lamps, and the number and angle of illumination of the lamps have their own unique functions. The entire stage is evenly lit, and actors and objects do not change with their position. Each light zone plays a role. The entire stage is filled with a three-dimensional sense to meet the visual effects of the audience at different angles of seating, meeting the requirements of each scene on the stage. The lighting effect, balance, strength, and color are carefully designed. Control the illuminance to smoothly and naturally change between hundreds to thousands of LUX. Multiple actors in the same performance area are simultaneously illuminated throughout the entire stage area, with flexible changes in lighting brightness and color.
The art center was awarded the "19th China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Award" in January 2022.
